From Toulouse to the high country and back, dives deep into the wildest, most beautiful corners of the Pyrenees.

THE ADVENTURE

Over ten unforgettable days, this self-drive journey tackles the Pyrenees from end to end—rolling out of Toulouse, diving into the lush Val d’Aran, skimming along high ridgelines, and winding all the way to Ripoll before looping back north again. It’s a showcase of everything that makes these mountains magic: soaring passes, hidden gravel tracks, alpine meadows dotted with wild horses, and remote stone villages.

From the riverside charm of Bossòst to the rugged beauty of the Varrados Valley, each day delivers something new. You’ll picnic beside glacier-fed streams, wander through historic refuges once used by people fleeing Nazi Germany, and drive forest routes that suddenly explode into panoramic views. Expect paragliders spiralling overhead, ridgelines brushing 2,000 m, and endless excuses to stop for a wander, a photo or a swim.

A chilled mid-trip rest day in Sort gives you time to recharge: go white-water canoeing, lounge by the pool, or wander into town for coffee. Later, you’ll dip into Andorra for tax-free fuel and quirky micro-state culture before climbing back into the high country—crossing passes above 2,300 m and threading through tiny Catalan villages en route to Ripoll. With moderate daily driving, full briefings, radios in every vehicle and an experienced French-speaking guide, the adventure stays exciting but never overwhelming.

ACCOMMODATION

Evenings are all about comfort, flexibility, and soaking up the local vibe. At each overnight stop you’re free to choose your style—camping, cabins, hotels, or Airbnbs—while your guide bases himself at hand-picked campsites complete with pools, bars and easy access to nearby villages. One night you might be kicking back beside a mountain river in Sort as the dam release roars through; another, you’re tucked into a tiny family-run campsite in Castellbò, sharing simple home-cooked food and stories as the sun drops behind the peaks.

Whether you prefer a tent under the stars or a cosy room with a hot shower, you’ll always have the freedom to make the trip your own—cook for yourself, eat out, linger longer or head first for a quieter evening. It’s the perfect mix of independence and support for a truly memorable Pyrenean escape.
