I had a great time on the Marlborough and West Coast trip exploring some awesome 4wd tracks and unique locations in the area. I am looking forward to joining Richard again on future trips to Canterbury/South Otago and the Otago Gold Fields.
The wilderness trip was all that was promised, snaps don't do it justice. Breath taking on several levels and scenery I wish that everyone could see, and by doing this trip it is possible.
Rich (tour guide) ticks all the boxes.
We are already planning our next trip.
Richard's got some classic South Island routes on his itineraries as well as some not so well known, meaning happy trails for novices and experienced explorers alike. His military background means he has the skills to keep you safe, and his extensive world travels mean he always has another story to tell.

We did a tour with Rich, taking in the Nelson Lakes National Park, off road to Reefton and then day trips from Reefton including Big River and the Denniston Plateau. We can’t really say much more than that everyone who did the trip has booked to go again.

Rich is an experienced 4WD guide and good company. We highly recommend 4x4 Explorer Adventures.

And since we can’t go anywhere else, what better way to explore New Zealand.

Thanks for sharing some awesome parts of the country with us and giving us a chance to see what our Jimny is capable of. We enjoyed the Nelson/Buller trip so much I had to come back for the Otago one. Your trips have so far taken me from sea level to over 1700m, covered gravel, mud, clay, shale, sand, rock and West Coast boulders and helped me experience well over 50 river crossings, all while feeling completely safe. Good fun, good people, great times. Can't wait for the next one!
